BAM Air 1.0 and Why

It’s for the kids really. That’s what started all this. When decisions were being made to open schools and hope for the best, it became obvious that there were going to be issues. Kids won’t wear masks and wash their hands reliably for instance. They’re kids! If there is anyone here that doesn’t already understand what a caldron of infection schools are generally, don’t raise your hand.

It’s a happy side effect that this work will benefit face-to-face businesses as well. But the real breakthrough was seeing how businesses partnering with non-profits could PAY for the classroom devices. That’s when I decided to get off my butt and get to work. This can work. It MUST work. Unless somebody else does it better or faster, which is just fine by the way. As LTCG would say ‘Git er done’.

So work is progressing on BAM Air 1.0 units. This is still in flight, but it’s looking like it’s going to be a three foot by three foot by 18 inch rectangle. Input filters on one side, output filters on the other, and a seriously large fan in the middle. Still working on the best internal design to attenuate sound levels.
